Since when are we so concern of RACE?

Oh, that skin colour is just as irritating.

Why can't we have the same colour? Then it should be fine that every one is just the same.

NO, I disagree. Don't you think its pretty boring that every one is the same and there aren't any uniqueness of each others?

WOKAY, I agree a little.

But but..... We are different! How do we accept each others?

I FOUND SIMILARITY!!! Your blood and my blood is the same la..... hahaah! BINGO!

Aiyo... plz! A small kid don't even bother about race, why bother to look into it? Aren't we brother and sister on EARTH? More so, how many lives or years you have to waste on this matter? Why can't you be MUHIBAH a bit, understand each others culture... accept each other, love each other.....

Is it that Hard for you to open your PRECIOUS mouth to say HI to him or her that is not the same skin colour as yours?


Actually hor, if you notice, most of us are not buying into it lar....

Just certain INDIVIDUAL that falls for it. They prefer to waste energy on unnecessary stuff. To which, we smart fella better SMART UP. Don't fall for it.

Yes, I am a teacher my self and I know how much work I need to put in to prepare the lesson. It is indeed a big sacrifices and time spent to do the necessity.

Please don't fondle number "1"..

Number 1 (one) has been used frequently (rampantly) now a day after PM launched the 1Malaysia slogan. To me, its very annoying to know, hear, read and see the number 1 !

Ok, I admit I may not be the number 1 boy in class or sports, but heck, can't we be in number 2 or 3?

Now they are introducing 1 toilet... I wonder what funny ideas will pop up in the future. Read your 1toilet here.

Why youth must speak up!

Often I find my self silently observe at what is happening and not bothering on the next step. However, if we aren't doing anything, will our country move forward? I bet the answer is a BIG NO....

Perhaps we will earn a BIG BOOO from our late leaders that had sacrifice for us.

So, what can we really do?

Can we use violence? No, for we are people who want peace in this country that we love.

Can we march? Yes, why not? It is our right to march if our voice is not heard. Of course, don't shout your lung out. You need to keep your voice for better usage.

The most important thing to do right now is to voice out for others.

GOD reminded us in bible when he said : “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (NIV) Proverbs 31: 8-9

Young people, speak UP! Don't keep it silent. I know you and I have tons of energy, we have inspiring ideas. We can share with each others and improve Malaysia. What that we cannot do? We can do all things through GOD who gives us strength! Same goes to other religion. I am sure the ALMIGHTY we serve will open our eyes and let us see beyond our knowledge.

Youth, you are the future LEADER. If you keep your tidak apa style, Malaysia will too becomes a TIDAK APA STYLE COUNTRY. Think about it. Be concern of the country that you live in. Put in effort. Laziness will drag Malaysia down...

Speak up for those unfortunate ones. Be BOLD.

Some might misunderstand it for one night stand or dirty minded stuff. However, it is a direct translation which mean "Are you free tonight?".

Let us hope that the Government will see a clearer picture of language usage in our daily life.

Poor English a result of the system

I THINK the basic problem lies with the teachers. There is no sincere effort among them to master the language themselves in order to be able to teach with confidence.

In the 1970’s when teachers who were trained to teach in the English language had to revert to Bahasa Malaysia. I was one of them, and we took great efforts to do so. Other colleagues who could not master the language took the right step - they resigned.

As I drove to school, I would listen to “Learn a Word a Day” over the radio every day and ensured I used that word in my conversations that day. This helped me to add new words to my vocabulary.

I also requested to teach in a “weak class” (classes were streamed in those days) so that I could gain confidence in the language. I was never shy to ask my Malay colleagues for help. I improved so much that my headmistress allowed me to teach Geography and History in Bahasa Malaysia in Form 4.

Before I retired in the 1990s, I was asked to observe and report on English Language trainee teachers. Even then, I could see the deterioration in the standard from year to year.

I can only say one thing - the system is the cause for this deterioration.

Puan Chella, Thank you for your effort to change and improve your self when our government makes changes. As I can see, some teacher could not cope with it and we lost wonderful teacher. That is why we have insufficient teacher. :(

Government, are you doing the right thing? Not only you killed your wonderful teacher, you will soon kill your future generation!!

As for the recent changes to revert to the old method of teaching S & M in BM, below is my opinions which I posted in a group:

I would prefer if the Government could allow us to choose the school we want for our future generation. Bring back English medium school, maintain National and Vernacular school (or as before the implementation of teaching S & M in English.). This would silent those who would like to see BM/BC/BT being maintain as the main language in S & M.

We may have international school, but still we should be given more option. Not to say when we have so many different types of school, we cannot achieve unity among us.

I suggest we must scrap the Pendidikan Moral subject. This subject is not a subject. It is a life lesson that must be taught at home. Many students complained they are not learning anything at all. Waste of time.

May be they should think of having year end camp for ALL form 4 & 5 students after their examination. (One month camp.) Get them to do community work, understanding each other cultures and beliefs. This would bring them closer among them. Scrap National service. This is better than moral eds. Practicality.

Politics be damned, it’s English - By Kee Thuan Chye (Must Read)

I read with awe on his article as he 'poked' certain people and decision made by our government. It is a must read for a better understanding on our current situation. Education or politics? Which one comes first?

Mom had a conversation with me after reading this article. She said that there was this taxi man who spoke fluent "Ink-Girlish" than those sixth form students and University grads. Standard dropped or University grads lousy?

Passes in SPM is a must. But how can we help them to improve? I'd met with a friend who grew up in rural area. His result is good, but his command of English is weak. Without a good communication and understanding in English, its going to be a DAMN for the youngster. Read Dr.Hsu encounter with a part time nurse he hired.

Friends, time to think for our children. Not politics please.

Language is a form of communication and it is also a knowledge that will bring us further.


In conclusion, I would like to borrow my mom's conclusion: I am sad and pity for the children.

Two historic letters - Separation of Singapore from Malaya

How Singapore separated from Malaysia? Its all started from these two letters. I believe that our secondary school history book may not have these letters for our young generation to read. They should know what causes it to happen.

These historical letters is taken from the book entitle "Who lives if Malaysia dies"*. Published by DAP in April 1969. Click the picture below to read.

I gave some thought to this matter. If Singapore was not separated from Malaysia, perhaps they could just be like us. However, the then Prime Minister of Malaya Tunku Abdul Rahman made a decision to end our ties seems to be the best decision for Singapore. Singapore is without resources and rely mostly on trading. Yet, they can survive and bring Singapore forward. Malaysia has plenty of resources yet we seem to be nowhere.

Of course, I do see Malaysia improves in certain areas. However, we need to make Malaysia a better country to live in.

Ok, I shall not compare Malaysia and Singapore. They are just a tiny red dot and we are like black ink stain on a white shirt. :D

Teachers going mad teaching subjects in English

TAIPING: Some Malay teachers in Bagan Serai are “going mad” as they cannot handle teaching Mathematics and Science subjects in English, claimed a state assemblyman .

Dr Khalil Idham Lim Abdullah (Titi Serong) said the teachers themselves had to take English classes to improve their command of English.

While they are still grappling with the language, they are required to teach their students as well, said Khalil, who was chairman of the Perak Backbenchers Club in the former Pakatan Rakyat-led state government.

“The teachers themselves have a poor command of English. How do we expect them to teach their students?” he asked in his speech after a briefing on the subject at the state PAS headquarters in Jalan Air Kuning on Tuesday.

Some teachers, he said, “have simply gone crazy” because of this, likening the matter to the blind leading the blind. He claimed the minimum passing mark for both subjects were lowered to ensure that only a rosy picture was painted of the move.

Prof Abdullah said the argument that the usage of English would provide better job opportunities could only hold water if there were plenty of job openings.

The fact that they (The Teacher) have to take English lesson is also for their own good. I wonder how they pass their English Test when they were in Teacher Training College. The Education Ministry proves one thing: They hired LOW Quality Teacher to Teach or their program 'shucks ' and produce ineffective teacher!

Of course, not all Teachers are low in quality. I do know some great teacher!! :D

Just the minority who dislike teaching, who take things for granted, who do not care a heck on the students welfare, and the list go on.

Being a Teacher is not "Another 9 to 5 job". Its about moulding a child's future, and it also impart your knowledge with him or her.

Another factor we must not forget is that the time frame given to start teaching Mathematics and Science In English were quite short. It was just a few months for the teacher to prepare them selves. The Government should have given a year for the teacher to acquire it before allowing them to teach.

So, whose fault is it? All the decisions are made by the Education Ministry who has not taught before, yet they made all the lousy mistakes which can be prevented.

Time to think and plan well.

School of 1957 versus 2009

Scenario :
Jack goes rabbit shooting before school,
pulls into school parking lot with rifle in gun rack.

1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's rifle, goes to his car and gets his rifle & chats with Jack about guns.

2009 - School goes into lock down, Star Force called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his ute or gun again.. Counsellors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

Scenario:
Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school.

1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.

2009 - Police called, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it. Both children go to anger management programs for 3 months. School board hold meeting to impliment bullying prevention programs

Scenario:
Robbie won't be still in class, disrupts other students.

1957 - Robbie sent to office and given 6 of the best by the Principal. Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.

2009 - Robbie given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for ADD. Robbie's parents get fortnightly disability payments and School gets extra funding from state because Robbie has a disability.

Scenario :
Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.

1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.

2009 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care and joins a gang. State psychologist tells Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison.

Scenario :
Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.

1957 - Mark gets glass of water from Principal to take aspirin with.

2009 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario :
Pedro fails high school English.

1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.

2009 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. AFRE files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

Scenario :
Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from Guy Fawkes, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a bullant nest.

1957 - Ants die.

2009- Star Force, Federal Police & Anti-terrorism Squad called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, Feds investigate parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated. Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

Scenario :
Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.

1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.

2009 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

Think about it!

The world changes according to time and the way people handle a situation also change. Not to mention dirty politic, education, and etc..

Thanks RL for sharing this with me. The changes that we will face might be worst in the future. Currently, our country is weak and now under going changes. It may not be smooth, but in order for change to happen, we have to bear with a lot of difficulties and obstacles.

Come the day we will have more transparency, more justice, more check + balance, more freedom of speech and lastly, a fair democracy!

Affected by the world

Yes, I am affected by what is happening at the moment.

Gaza & Israel - End it now! Hurting and killing people will not solve any problem. UN, Thanks for looking into it. I want to stress that some of the Americans may NOT support what their Government is doing. Therefore, we shall not say that US is doing a destruction on the affected country. This would be unfair to those who oppose it. The Americans elected B.Obama to stop it.

Racist Moron - I hate to repeat. Your blood and my blood are just the same in colour. Why do we need to differentiate each other skin colours? Why is it hard to see the good of others? Remember when there were peoples who need a heart, kidney and cataract? All our body parts do not see what is our skin colour. It fit inside our body. Look into each other inner self. Look for the positive side. I know human have flaws, but we need to learn how to appreciate each other, how to accept each other. Get rid of our negative thoughts and start moving forward.

Misleading our Children- CHILDREN IS OUR FUTURE HOPE. If we guide them in the wrong path, they will be screw up. We should start them from young to love each other whom are different from us. Let not the differences separate us, but bring us together and enjoy the uniqueness of each other culture. Food is something we can start on. :D

KT By Election- Some how, I am not following much. Just read of how the people over there are living from bloggers. Sad state even they have oils.

Religion- I do not want to comment on this. Just let him/her to deal with the Almighty when their time is up. Each of us will be judge with what we do on earth. Its after all a personal matter.

MPs- Start doing your job. Do not throw RUBBISH news everywhere. The medias are very happy with your stories. To those who are doing a your job, I salute you.

Hindraf and Government- As I listened to national TV news, I read on the bottom news bar stated that HINDRAF is putting Malaysia to shame with their remark oversea. Ok, as much as I do not like it.. The Government? Some time YOU say something that have no Common Sense. So, what is that? Not putting Malaysian to shame? Do I need to show you? Go for Google and Youtube.

Friends, be civil minded. Inject some common sense. (How I wish I can inject Common sense and civil minded in MALAYSIANS and we will be a GREAT COUNTRY!) Malaysia BOLEH!

Ridiculous Higher Education Ministry!

JOHOR BARU: The Higher Education Ministry is drawing up strategies to attract more students from Africa and the Middle East to study in Malaysia.

“Malaysia houses not only institutions of higher learning established by locals, but also many campuses set up by other international institutions here,” Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin told a press conference in Plentong yesterday.

“With 41 private and 20 public institutions in the country, we are in a good position to attract them,” he said. Khaled said the ministry would ensure the institutions’ policies and the disciplines offered were of international standard.

He said that organisations like the Malaysian Qualification Agency and Malaysia Medical Coun­­­cil would ensure the quality of education provided by the institutions remained high.

“We have also requested all the private institutions to participate in the rating programme (for institutions of higher learning),” he said.He said Africa and the Middle East were huge potential markets with 43 million people having qualified for tertiary education.

The 60,000 foreign students currently studying here were also working on recruiting more students from their home countries, he added.

CRAP! With so many form 6 leavers cannot get entry into University, they are now offering other country's citizen the opportunity to study in Malaysia. You have not solve the needs of Malaysians, yet you are now helping others.

Previously, you requested for Malaysians who are working out side of Malaysia to come back and help Malaysia progress. Look at the way you deal with things, you are not even helping to maintain Malaysian who work here. Disappointed.

How those of good qualities Malaysian could stay back and help Malaysia when their own country is not helping them? What a good way to shoo away Malaysian in the beginning of the year.

Pejuang bahasa, pernahkah ini terlintas dalam minda anda?

Saya tidak tahu kenapa kita ada pejuang Bahasa bagi menyelamatkan Bahasa Kebangsaan (BK). Ia macam menyatakan bahawa BK akan pupus sedangkan kita mempunyai BK sebagai mata pelajaran yang wajib diambil di sekolah rendah dan menengah. Walaupun saya mempunyai pandangan yang berbeza terhadap Tun Mahathir, namun saya rasa keputusan yang dibuat olehnya adalah demi kebaikan masa depan anak-anak Malaysia.

Jika anak-anak muda mula belajar dari usia yang muda, ia mudah diserap dan difahami di masa kelak. Mata pelajaran matematik dan sains di peringkat Universiti menggunakan Bahasa Inggeris dalam pengajarannya. Kenapa para-para pejuang bahasa ingin menyusahkan pelajar-pelajar bagi menyesuaikan diri dalam penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris supaya mereka boleh memahami dengan lebih mudah di peringkat Universiti.

Cycling is dangerous around town! Come, go to police station for protection...

50 Cyclist who were part of Jerit Campaign was barred from crossing Penang bridge. They were taken care at the police station until 4.20pm.

Now, I want to ask the Police department, since when a group of friends who want to cycle for health reason get arrested, or may be like what you prefer to say, SAFE KEEP them from any danger? Ok. May be they have some leaflet. I do not think that by distributing leaflet is against the law. GOSH. I find it difficult to accept. How about those fella who paste the "AH LONG" leaflet around town? Why no action was taken against them? It is even worst than those who distribute it asking for PEACE. Anyway, I shall leave it aside. I would like to share a video with you. For your enjoyment.

My father used to tell me that he always cycle around for hours. Now? I do not think he can do it. We are not in the past. In the current future, this is what we will see; those who roam around in group will be taken away for question. The concern of our police officer is very much appreciated.


OUT OF TOPIC:
Damansara Primary School is finally going to re-open after 8 years of struggles. Not without pressure from the Chinese community. Vernacular Chinese schools need expansion programs to meet the needs of the growing student population. If you want to provide a better education, let the ratio be small. The current ratio is 1 teacher : 40-45 students.

Have you visit Chinese Primary / Secondary school to see the efficiency of these school? Of course there are flaws, but at least the standard is much higher than national school. What that you had provided will NEVER match vernacular competitiveness.

It is because of its competitiveness that earned them a good reputation. So, tell me, in term of Education, have the national school reach the highest standard? If it does, then may be you can talk about closing down vernacular school and put them together with National school.

In this century, the vernacular school must also look ahead. Adopting English to teach in Maths and Science will bring the future generation further. Do not think that by using Mandarin Language we will be able to survive. Yes, we can. But we might miss out opportunity or advantages that could bring us up a level. Change is a must. For our future education!

Some are still criticizing on the usage of English to teach Maths and Science. They feared for the language might be gone if one was not practicing it. Hey, What is your native language? You already acquire your own Native Language, why not give opportunity for your self to learn other language? This will bring out the best in you. Enough Said. Period.

Bahasa tidak gagal, yang gagal adalah sekolah-sekolah yang mana ianya tidak memberi cabaran kepada pelajar-pelajar. Saya masih ingat bila saya belajar di SRJK CINA, saya mempunyai banyak kerja rumah untuk dihabiskan. Malah, jika saya tidak menghabiskan, denda akan menunggu saya. Jikalau saya tidak silap, Sekolah Kebangsaan tidak mempunyai banyak kerja rumah dan sangat relaks bila belajar di SK.

Inilah keunikan SRJK yang membuat para-para ibubapa menghantar anak-anak mereka ke SRJK. Mereka mahu yang terbaik untuk anak mereka, bukan kerana bahasa malaysia yang menjadi halangan kepada anak mereka. (Saya bincang dari segi SRJK Cina, tidak termasuk Sekolah RJK Tamil kerana saya tidak pernah belajar di sana.)

Untuk mereka yang belajar dalam Bidang Pendidikan BAHASA, mereka pasti pernah dengar tentang bahawa bagi seseorang untuk menguasai sesuatu Bahasa, mereka harus mula dari usia yang muda. Jika mereka tidak mula, maka ia akan menjadi kesusahan bagi mereka dalam menguasai bahasa pada usia yang tua.

Tengoklah keadaan sekeliling kita. Anda memulakan hidup anda bersama keluarga anda. Anda bertutur dalam BM, saya bertutur dalam bahasa cina dengan keluarga saya. Permulaan saya atau kebiasaan saya ialah bertutur dalam bahasa ibunda. Adakah anda akan belajar bertutur Bahasa Cina dengan keluarga anda? Tidak, kecuali jika salah seseorang di kalangan keluarga anda tahu bahasa itu. Permulaan pada masa muda itu yang menjadi titik permulaan anda dalam menguasai sesuatu bahasa. Tetapi, seseorang itu masih boleh belajar menguasai bahasa yang dia hendak jika dia inginkan.

Ambil contoh wanita yang ditangkap imigresen itu. Dia hanya menghabiskan pendidikan rendah sahaja. Masa itu dia masih muda. Ia tidak akan terlintas dalam fikiran anak-anak muda yang BM adalah penting. Ibubapa memainkan peranan penting dalam pembinaan hidup seseorang anak. (Jika orang yang disebut itu adalah perkara yang berlaku baru-baru ini, wanita itu sebenarnya telah ditahan selama 11 bulan. Boleh baca di sini. )

Bahasa Malaysia tidak diabaikan di Uni-uni dan syarikat awam, BM yang diuji di tahap SPM telah digunakan untuk menentukan tahap kefasihan para-para pelajar di sekolah dan mereka dikehendaki memasuki kursus yang khususnya untuk mereka yang lemah di Uni.

Titik permulaan adalah penting. Namun, banyak yang boleh diperbaharui dan pendidikan boleh membawa setiap kaum bersatu di Malaysia.

Perubahan harus bermula dari hati.

An institution unknown to Selangor folks like me

Am I ignorant?

How come I don't know that there is an institution for the youth? No, it is not vocational school.

It's a college that provide training for those who are not able to "face the book". It is a skills training college that prepare them for the future. Indeed I am ashamed that as It was being dumped aside without much help from the ruling Government. From my observation, it lacked of awareness from the education sector and need more exposure; the future generations need to know that there are places like this institution to help them for their future.

“INPENS” is the acronym for INDUSTRI PENDIDIKAN NEGERI SELANGOR. It was originally under the administration of Yayasan Selangor before being placed under Shah Alam Property Holdings Berhad. Inpens College is the catalyst for the Universiti Industri Selangor (UNISEL). During the period of 1994 to 1997, Inpens was rated as one of the top colleges in Selangor, competing with institutions like INTI, Taylors, etc. However, with the change of State Administration from Tan Sri Muhammad Taib to Tan Sri Abu Hassan, the college’s focus changed from a multi-racial composition, both the management and students. .................. Isn't it sad when you know the College can be on par with College like Inti and Taylor's, yet they are now not to be known by MANY! Please help to change Selangor to a better state~! I am glad we are now in GOOD HANDS!

YB Josephine Vs Press Freedom

Before I went to the forum for the discussion on YBJ short story, I had a quick skim on the article which was translated in English. (You can read it at Teresa Kok's Blog) The ending part gave me an uneasy feeling. Read the post note on why I felt that way.

The forum discussed on our press freedom which violated our peaceful law of order. Speakers stated that every one have their freedom to speak, but be responsible for what they write. YB Lim KS added that what if some one use YBC4 or who ever that link to "You know who", how would it be? As for the article, Azmi , if I am not mistaken he said he would ask the Pakatan not to sue the Utusan if they only publish the front part without the assassination of YBJ. Yes, the front part is acceptable as it can be rated as fiction.

On the other hand, the topic on Ratu Anjing in which YB LIM KS mentioned, Haris Ibrahim added that he have 9 dogs at home. He knows the quality and cost for the dog food and point out that the food for detainee under ISA is teruk (I say compare in price lah). He also said that he is a muslim who loved dogs. Who says Muslim cannot have dog? "Eyes wide and everyone is laughing!"

They stated that even with freedom of writing and speech, one cannot place violence in your story that will influence the people. Imagine the younger generation who are reading it, what will be absorb in their mind? I wondered have they think of it?

YB LIM KS highlighted 10 resemblances in the article that linked to YB Teresa. The writer claimed to have not write with resembling to any one. Is it so?

In my opinion, Utusan had indirectly encourage violence in their media. When the people are trying to have peace, they are trying to inject the violence by putting in assassination in the short story that they had published. It's not the killing of the BAD GUYS or some corrupted people, but a mere representative of the people! This story is really not putting up any moral value at all. What is the writer trying to tell the readers? That those who are not fighting for the right cause will be punish? Then I as an irresponsible citizen or writer can also write who (fictionalizes) is to be send to "The land of DARKNESS" and publish it? Is this right?

One cannot link Politician and Violence(Assassination and etc). Never ever touch on that.

Anyway, The venue was small, the turnout was quite ok. The impact was KAO KAo on my mind. Met up with great people. Bought a book on YB LIM GUAN ENG entitled 'DARI PENJARA LIM GUAN ENG KE TAMPUK KUASA' that was written and compiled by Wan Hamidi, one of the speaker. (Got his signature :) Thanks sir!)

It was stated that YBJ is assassinated when she goes up to speak in the infamous short stories. It gave me the thought that YB Teresa life is going to end at the forum. My mind was in a mess thinking of what will happen at the forum. Thank GOD it went smoothly for YB Teresa. She also mentioned she need to take more precaution after the published of the YBJ story.

The controversial Universities and University Colleges Act (UUCA) was in the spotlight again today when a deputy minister reinforced the government's stand that university students should not get involved with political parties.

Amid the amendments, Deputy Minister of Higher Education Idris Harun said Section 15 of the act, which states that students can join outside bodies but are still banned from joining political parties, was still relevant in preventing students from being influenced by any political party.

I totally disagree with what our Deputy Minister of Higher Education Idris Harun said. Come on. If you want the students to be aware of what is happening in politic, you should have given them the chance to experience it. Not to say they can still study in University. Experiencing and studying it is totally a different exposure.

Politic involved everything that we do or deal with. From Education, purchases of cars, houses, hiring people, business and so much more. What ever that we do will directly or indirectly involves politic. So, why is there a need to stop the students from garnering more information as well as improving our country?

No wonder why when others move forward, our education still goes backward. Without exposure, our university students will not be innovative, outspoken and think on behalf of our country. Cabinet, think ahead.
